a little bit about me:
My name is Prerana. Prayer-nah (fast).
Prerana translates to “inspiration” in Sanskrit, and it summarizes my purpose: to be inspired and serve as an inspiration.
My journey begins in the heart of a city often referred to as “the Silicon Valley or IT Capital of India”: Bengaluru, Karnataka. I grew up in Bengaluru for the earlier parts of my youth, and my cultural touch with the city and my homeland, Thrissur, Kerala, has profoundly shaped my identity and who I am today.
Following my Bengaluru roots, I began a new chapter in Calgary, Canada. I was exposed to a new culture in Calgary and later discovered a passion for chess, debate, and public speaking. I spent most of my middle school years attending summer stampedes and ice skating during the winter in Lake Louis, Banff. As life was settling in, along came an opportunity to journey further eastward to Canada’s largest city and growing start-up hub, Toronto.
Moving to Toronto, I felt the familiar vibrant, city atmosphere as I did in Bengaluru, and this move played a pivotal role in developing my fascination with STEM. I found a growing interest in business, and learned about transformational emerging technologies such as AI, with significant potential to make waves in industries worldwide. My growing curiosity and passion to follow a path of ambition takes me to today.
